Omar Ali
Qualified with a hospital pharmacy background and a former Government Adviser to NICE HTA for 10 years, he has been appointed as Visiting Lecturer on Value Based Pricing & Innovative Contracting at the University of Portsmouth. He advises foreign investors (US Embassy) on Value Based Assessments (hosted by the UK Department of Trade & Industry) and recently was invited to address the Italian Healthcare Senate [Senato della Repubblica] on Pharmaco-economic Evaluation & Sustainability Models of Healthcare. At this current time he has embarked on a PhD with his doctorate thesis entitled “Value Based Pricing & Outcomes Based, Innovative Contracting of New Medicines” and his research team has collated a repository of nealry 1000 live innovative contracts across 40 markets. Omar is a single father to 3 daughters, enjoys music (is a keen drummer) and promises to educate & entertain with his unique narrative on medicines, pricing & access from the payer’s perspective!
